How to fill and sign a PDF
To fill and sign a PDF in Klevo, open the document and type your details in one instruction, such as “fill this in for Jane Doe, 12 Main St, start date 1 December”. The AI writes them into the document. Then add your signature, or send a link so someone else signs in their browser. If your form has simple fillable fields, the free tools on your phone may be all you need.
Step by step
- Open the PDF. In the Klevo app or at app.klevo.info, choose Edit a PDF and pick the file.
- Type your answers. Put everything in one instruction, for example “name Jane Doe, date 1 December, tick yes for question 3”.
- Check every field. Read the result against your details. Ask for corrections in plain words, or undo.
- Sign or send. Choose Sign to add your signature, or Request signatures to send a link to someone else.
- Download. Download the finished PDF or share it from your library.
Try your phone’s free tools first
- iPhone and iPad: Markup in the Files app can fill many form fields and add a signature.
- Adobe Acrobat Reader: its free mobile app can fill and sign forms.
- Klevo: most useful when a PDF has no fillable fields, when you have a lot to fill in and would rather paste it, or when other people need to sign.
Which forms work well
- Text-based PDFs such as application forms, consent forms, agreements and order forms.
- Documents you created yourself, including Klevo’s templates.
Which forms to avoid
- Scanned forms: a scan is an image, and Klevo does not run OCR.
- Official and government forms: Klevo’s AI rebuilds the document, so the result may not be an exact copy of the original form or keep its interactive fields. If an authority requires its own form, fill in the original.
- Long, dense forms: go through these field by field and check the output closely.
Klevo’s templates and AI drafts are a starting point, not legal advice. For anything high-stakes, have a qualified professional review the final document.
Frequently asked questions
Can I fill and sign a PDF for free?
On many phones, yes, with built-in tools or Adobe’s free app. In Klevo your one free edit covers one action, either filling or signing, so doing both on your own needs Pro. Requesting a signature from someone else costs nothing.
Can I fill in a PDF that has no form fields?
Yes. That is where typing helps most: tell Klevo what to write and where, and the AI adds it to the document.
Does the filled PDF keep its fillable fields?
Do not rely on it. Klevo rebuilds the document, so treat the result as a finished PDF. If you need the interactive form, fill in the original.
Can someone else sign after I fill it in?
Yes. Choose Request signatures and share the link. They sign in any browser with no app or account.
Is my form private?
Your documents are visible only to you and the people you share them with. Text you send to the AI is processed to produce the result. See the privacy policy.
