How to sign a PDF on Android
Android has no system-wide tool for signing a PDF: Google Drive previews documents and lets you comment, but not add a signature. Klevo signs in the Android app or in any browser, and lets you send a document to other people to sign from their own phones.
Step by step
- Open the PDF. Open Klevo on Android and pick the document, or open app.klevo.info in Chrome and upload it.
- Sign. Choose Sign, draw the signature with your finger or type your name in a handwriting-style font.
- Place and save. Move the signature where it goes, then save. The signed copy stays in your library.
- Ask someone else. Choose Request signatures and share the link. They sign in a browser with no app and no account.
- Download or forward. Save the PDF to your phone, share it in a chat, or email it from Klevo.
What Android gives you for free
Google Drive opens PDFs, lets you zoom and comment, and on some accounts add notes. It does not add a signature. Some phones ship a notes app that can draw on a page, which produces a picture of the page, not a signed PDF with a record of the signer.
That works for a quick initial on a form you keep yourself. It does not work when the document has to come back signed, with a record of who signed and when.
Sign on Android with Klevo
Open the PDF in the Klevo app or at app.klevo.info in Chrome. Choose Sign, draw a signature with a finger or type your name, and drag it onto the page. The signed copy is saved as a normal PDF you can share straight from the phone.
Get the other person to sign
Choose Request signatures and share the link. The signer opens it in any browser — on Android, iPhone or a computer — and signs without installing anything. Klevo appends a certificate page with each signer’s name, time, IP address, device and a SHA-256 hash of the document, then puts the signed copy in your library. A signer can decline with a reason instead. One link accepts up to ten signers.
Is an electronic signature valid?
In many places, including under the US ESIGN Act and the EU eIDAS Regulation, electronic signatures are legally recognized for most everyday agreements. Some documents, such as wills or certain property deeds, have extra requirements. Klevo appends a certificate page recording each signer’s name, the time, IP address and device.
When another app fits better
For signature fields at exact positions, notarisation or an enterprise audit trail, use a dedicated signing service. For invoices, consent forms and freelance contracts on a phone, drawing a signature and sending a link covers it.
